Common Equity NSW (CENSW)
The community housing sector in NSW is undergoing considerable reform and restructure as it enters a new and exciting growth phase.
CENSW was formerly known as (Association to Resource Co-operative Housing) ARCH, a Peak Body charged with providing training and resourcing to the Housing Cooperatives in NSW. ARCH has been restructured to a Company limited by Guarantee with a changed role of program manager for the 35 or so Housing Cooperatives throughout the state. This model is based on the long-standing Victorian CEHL model – though the NSW version will be around 1/3rd the size.
CENSW’s Mission is to facilitate viability, growth and sustainability of cooperative housing by:
· Enhancing the value of the collective assets of the Company and cooperatives;
· Providing excellence in training, education and support to cooperative membership that fosters self-reliance and empowerment;
· Ensuing high quality management and governance;
· Fostering effective partnerships;
· Developing and promoting new and diverse models for cooperative living; and,
· Promoting sustainability in housing design and community living.
The structure of the Company is:
CEO
Accountant
Property Officer
Project Officer (Growth & Development)
Senior Field Officer
Field Officer
Office Manager
Clerical Support Staff (2)
It is a flat staff structure, all the roles report to the CEO except the two clerical staff (who report to the Office Manager).
